What is title case?
Title case is the convention of capitalizing the important words in a headline while leaving minor words — articles like a and the, coordinating conjunctions like and and but, and many prepositions — in lowercase. The first and last word are always capitalized regardless of what they are.
How do AP, Chicago and APA differ?
Mostly in how they treat prepositions. Chicago lowercases prepositions of any length, so it writes "Jumps through the Woods". AP and APA capitalize words of four letters or more even when they are prepositions, giving "Jumps Through the Woods". All three lowercase articles and coordinating conjunctions in the middle of a title.
What happens to acronyms like NASA or iPhone?
They are left exactly as you typed them. The converter recognises deliberate capitalization — all-caps acronyms (NASA, API, HTML) and intercaps (iPhone, eBay) — and does not "correct" them. The one exception is text that is entirely in capitals, which is treated as shouting and converted normally, since fixing ALL-CAPS text is the most common reason people use this tool.
What is sentence case?
Sentence case capitalizes only the first word of each sentence, plus any proper nouns you already capitalized, and leaves the rest lowercase — the way an ordinary sentence is written.
