How to Use
- 1 Enter your numbers — Type or paste numbers into the input field. You can separate values with commas, spaces, or new lines. Paste directly from Excel or spreadsheets.
- 2 Watch statistics calculate instantly — As you enter numbers, all statistics are calculated in real-time. No need to click a button.
- 3 Review basic statistics — See mean (average), median, mode, and range at a glance in the first section.
- 4 Explore additional statistics — Find sum, count, min, max, standard deviation (population and sample), variance, geometric mean, and harmonic mean.
- 5 Copy individual or all results — Use the copy buttons next to each value, or click 'Copy All Stats' to copy everything at once.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between mean, median, and mode?
Mean is the arithmetic average (sum divided by count). Median is the middle value when sorted. Mode is the most frequently occurring value. Each describes the 'center' of data differently.
Why are there two standard deviations?
Population standard deviation (σ) is used when you have the complete data set. Sample standard deviation (s) is used when you're analyzing a sample and uses n-1 instead of n in the formula to account for sampling error.
When is geometric mean useful?
Geometric mean is ideal for data that multiplies together or represents rates of change, like investment returns, population growth, or percentages. It only works with positive numbers.
What does 'multimodal' mean?
If two or more values appear with the same highest frequency, the data is bimodal (2 modes) or multimodal (3+ modes). If all values are unique, there is no mode.
