How to Use

  1. 1
Upload your image — Drag and drop an image file (PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, or BMP up to 20MB) or click to browse.
  2. 2
Select output format — Choose your target format: JPG (best for photos), PNG (for transparency), WEBP (modern web), GIF (simple animations), or BMP (uncompressed).
  3. 3
Adjust quality — For JPG and WEBP, use the quality slider to balance file size and image quality. Higher quality means larger files.
  4. 4
Set background color — When converting transparent images to JPG, choose a background color to replace transparent areas (default is white).
  5. 5
Convert and download — Click Convert to process your image. Preview the result and file size change, then download your converted image.

💡 Pro Tip: When converting PNG with transparency to WEBP, the transparency is preserved. For the smallest web images with transparency, WEBP is your best choice over PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which format should I choose?

JPG is best for photos and images with many colors (smaller file size, no transparency). PNG is ideal for images with transparency, logos, or text. WEBP offers best compression for web use. GIF supports animation but limited colors. BMP is uncompressed maximum quality.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?

JPG doesn't support transparency. When converting a transparent image to JPG, transparent areas are replaced with the background color you select (default is white). You'll see a warning if your image has transparency.

Why is WEBP recommended for websites?

WEBP typically produces 25-35% smaller files than JPG or PNG at equivalent quality. It supports both lossy and lossless compression, plus transparency. All modern browsers support WEBP, making it ideal for faster-loading websites.

Is my image data secure?

Absolutely! All format conversion happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device and are never uploaded to any server. Your files remain completely private.
